Project Background: The Department of Public Works aims to consolidate all of its facilities in to a single campus located in the 1900-2000 blocks of West Virginia Avenue, NE on 20 acres of existing District government property.  The project would include the design, build, finance, and maintenance (DBFM) of this new campus, including a 165,000 sq. ft. maintenance facility, a 123,000 sq. ft. of office space for an administrative headquarters, a 30,000 sq. ft. fueling and vehicle washing station, and parking facilities to accommodate 930 light, medium, and heavy fleet vehicles as well as 550 employee vehicles.  There could be additional opportunities for private activity such as residential, commercial and retail uses, the revenue of which might be used to offset availability payments made by the District for this facility.
